As an employer, we consider it a responsibility of ours to include environmental and societal factors into all business decisions. This can be achieved through company policies, and setting ourselves ambitious targets for the future.

Hy-Vac are committed to net zero by 2045.

By carefully monitoring emissions throughout the company, we have been able to establish 2024 as our base year, against which future improvements can be measured.
The CRP makes reference to our Environmental Action Plan. This in turn is a part of our overall Environmental Management System. In short, this system enables us to track progress on a number of activities which have been identified as having an environmental impact, which we can influence.
Through the EMS, targets are set, and individuals are assigned the task of monitoring progress and implementing the necessary changes in pursuit of those targets.

For example, responsibly sourcing building materials, cutting down on unnecessary travel, making the most of recycling options, and providing environmental awareness training.

We encourage input from all stakeholders, and constantly monitor and add to our EMS as new goals are identified.

We believe in creating a positive impact on society through our operations. For this reason, we have developed a Corporate Social Value Programme, to help identify areas in which we could be doing more.

This includes providing mental health resources to staff, taking steps to remove unconscious bias from the recruitment process, and eliminating Modern Slavery from our supply chain.
